Fired Up and Ready to Go!

The Time is Now Indeed!
November 4th is not that far away. I don't know if this is a sprint to the finish line or not, but I know that if you think there's been too much slime flung at Obama so far, you ain't seen nothing yet!

They will stop at nothing, no lie is too big. Look at what they did so far: Trying to simultaneously spread innuendo that Obama is somehow a Muslim, while at the same time trying to put the albatross of his former Christian pastor around his neck. Make up your mind, is he some kind of Muslim terrorist, or a black Christian extremist? You can't have it both ways.

Watching Obama speak tonight, the possible pain of having another election stolen from us fills me with dread. I have been clapping out loud, with only Martha, Lucy, and BB here in the room with me. The hope of having someone like him as our president is overwhelmingly attractive.
We cannot turn back, we cannot turn back.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, how to get involved, but I have to do something. It is not an exaggeration for us to ask ourselves
When the time came, when history called on us to do our part, how did we answer the call?
We have to answer the call, we have to answer the challenge.

Geoff, I totally agree. I have laid low, but now it is time for all of us to speak out. I shall, from now on, tell everyone I am voting for Obama. I am voting for what we can be in this country. I was, for awhile, pretending I would run away to another country, things are so bad. No more. I'm speaking up. It is time we simply say what we think and feel. No longer will politics be banned at the dinner table. "I am voting for Obama!" will be my slogan.

You can do three things. Make phone calls, donate money, or knock on doors. In SF, where he will get 75% or more, you would be preaching to the choir so stay inside. Instead, volunteer for a phone bank. You will phone people in swing states and have a chance to speak with them, to share your passion, and persuade them. Some will hang up on you. If they are polite, some will say they aren't going to vote for a black muslim. Some will lie to you. But, in the end, you will reach some people and help them find the truth. You are an articulate and persuasive man. Try making phone calls. Two or three hours a week is all it takes.
